As you know for the past 3 years I have nominated the Breezy Sac for the Edy's Slow Churned Neighborhood Salute. Everyone has enjoyed the ice cream each year and it's always a nice way to meet some new folks in the neighborhood.
The contest has begun for 2008 and I have attached the link below so that another proud Breezy Sacster can brag about our neighborhood. I can't be the only person that has something to say about our "fun in the sun" so I am sharing the info below in order for another neighbor to enter the contest. We had such a fun time lthe last two years. We all met for burger and fries at Five Guys. Then off to the Farm for fun. Admission includes: hayrides (remember the Spooky barn?), mountain slides, rope swings, Billy Goat Village, hay tunnels, delicious apples, apple cider, farmers market with baked goods, face painting, kettle corn, and a pumpkin to bring home! The sac is having another private party at "Let's Dish". Party will be held at the Fairfax Store, October 2nd at 8 pm (near the Home Depot Expo Center). So here are the details for the party for you to register. We have to have 12 people register in 10 days or they will open our party up to the public (5 party-goers have already signed on). Where has the summer gone? School has started, vacations have ended, we are all back trying to get our routines together. Time to sit back and relax!

It has been a long time debate. Which of these burger joints is the better one? G-man swears by Five Guys and Ms. Michelle swears by Fosters (in Vienna). Anyone care to weigh in on their thoughts....favorite one??? I think I will need to go taste them both again! I just drove by a new Foster's which is opening up in Herndon...taste test anyone???? (Hey Michelle thought of you when I drove by Fosters new location!!!!!)

What is for breakfast?? The normal question asked by Jack and Claire in the a.m. I usually do something simple like: cereal, poptart, yogurt, cottage cheese, fruit, and on several occasions the kids eat waffles. We are trying to eat a healthier diet and have even switched our pasta to whole grain. So the question was raised "Isn't it better to give the kids Kashi waffles instead of an eggo waffle?" I truly like the simplicity of the waffle, toast it, throw it in a napkin, and let the kids eat it and get ready for school. Would it be the same with a Kashi waffle? The answer is "NO". I toasted them up this morning and threw them in a napkin. Jack looked at me (are you kidding me Mom look) and said "this waffle has no flavor". And Claire says "Can I put some syrup on it?" Put syrup on it????!!!!! Doesn't syrup completely take the "Go Lean" out of a Kashi waffle???? It was no longer simple either!!! I had to take out 2 plates, forks, knifes, maple syrup, (make sure they didn't wipe the syrup on their clothes). I am a supporter of the Eggo for breakfast. Maybe the the healthiest of choices, but I know that Jack and Claire have a full stomach to begin their mornings.
So my question to you is Eggos or Kashi??????
